A lightweight fire barrier that comprises a flame-resistant coating containing expand-able graphite. The fire barrier has improved flame resistance and is flexible without undesired delamination. The fire barrier cannot be burnt through when the surface with coating is facing toward the fire, and remains flexible without cracking after 10 minutes of flame exposure.
