SURFACE COVERING WITH MOUNTING PROFILES

Surface covering comprising a rectangular array of essentially co-planer rectangular panels, where each of the top, bottom and side edges comprises a groove in the edge, said panels being held in place by a top profile extending along at least 50% of the length of the top edge of the panel, a bottom profile extending along at least 50% of the length of the bottom edge of the panel and two side profiles extending along at least 50% of the length of the two side edges of the panel, and where the bottom, top and side profiles each comprise a base portion for mounting the profile on an underlying support structure and a first and a second engaging flange arranged along the longitudinal axis of the profile, the first and second engaging flanges being spaced away from the base portion and being arranged to extend away from each other in directions having a major vector component which is parallel to the plane of the panels, the first engaging flange being engaged with a groove in an edge of a first panel and the second engaging flange being engaged with a groove in a neighbouring edge of a neighbouring panel. The profiles and said panels are arranged such that the edges of the panels are displaceable with respect to the neighbouring edges of neighbouring panels to accommodate expansion of the panels.

Cette invention concerne un revêtement de surface comprenant un réseau rectangulaire de panneaux rectangulaires sensiblement coplanaires, chacun des bords supérieur, inférieur et latéraux comprenant une rainure dans le bord, lesdits panneaux étant maintenus en place par un profilé supérieur s'étendant le long d'au moins 50 % de la longueur du bord supérieur du panneau, un profilé inférieur s'étendant le long d'au moins 50 % de la longueur du bord inférieur du panneau et deux profilés latéraux s'étendant le long d'au moins 50 % de la longueur des deux bords latéraux du panneau. Chacun des profilés inférieur, supérieur et latéraux comprend une partie de base pour monter le profilé sur une structure de support sous-jacente et une première et une seconde bride de mise en prise agencées le long de l'axe longitudinal du profilé, les première et seconde brides de mise en prise étant espacées de la partie de base et étant agencées de sorte à s'étendre à l'opposé l'une de l'autre dans des directions ayant une composante de vecteur majeur qui est parallèle au plan des panneaux, la première bride de mise en prise étant en prise avec une rainure dans un bord d'un premier panneau et la seconde bride de mise en prise étant en prise avec une rainure dans un bord voisin d'un panneau voisin. Les profilés et lesdits panneaux sont agencés de telle sorte que les bords des panneaux puissent être déplacés par rapport aux bords voisins des panneaux voisins pour s'adapter à l'extension des panneaux.
