The invention relates to a device (500, 600, 700, 5000, 7000) for holding ajar a flap (41) on a stationary element (31) of a body of a motor vehicle, characterised in that it comprises an element (2, 200, 400, 2000) for attaching to a stationary body part (31) and an element (1, 100, 300, 1000, 3000) for attaching to a part of the flap (41), one of the two elements (2, 100, 300, 2000, 3000) comprising: a base (7, 101, 301) for attaching said element to the stationary part (31) or the part of the flap (41); a holding member comprising a jaw (9, 106, 304, 9000, 3304) having two portions (3, 104, 304) of which at least one is designed to elastically deform in relation to the other, and a body (8, 103, 303) that connects the base to the jaw (9, 106, 304, 9000, 3304); the other element (1, 200, 400, 1000) comprising: a plate (11, 201, 401, 1100) for attaching said element to the part of the flap (41) or the stationary part (31); and a complementary holding member (5, 204, 404; 6, 203, 403; 6000, 5500); the jaw (9, 106, 304, 9000, 3304) being used to hold the complementary holding member in a static or quasi-static manner along the axis in which the jaw extends.
