The invention relates to a hydraulic actuator (100) comprising a barrel (2), a plunger piston (8), and a loose piston (14); said plunger piston is being arranged inside said barrel and at a first axial end (10) thereof comprises a piston end element (22); said loose piston is being arranged within said barrel (2), thereby partitioning the interior of said barrel into a first compartment (28) and a second compartment (30); said piston end element is partitioning the interior of said barrel into a second (30) and third compartment (32); said hydraulic actuator comprises a first opening (34) for providing a hydraulic pressure into said first compartment, and wherein said hydraulic actuator comprises a second opening (36) for providing a hydraulic pressure into said second compartment and/or into said third compartment; said hydraulic actuator is configured such that said second compartment is being in fluid connection with said third compartment.
