IMPROVEMENTS TO RACING RAIL BREAKAWAY POSTS
A break-away engagement arrangement between a pole and a ground engagement element is for supporting a racing rail is described. There is a ground engagement element wherein in use, the under surface is directed towards the ground and the upper surface is directed away from the ground also having at least one ground insertion prong. The upper surface of the ground engagement element has opposed projections which are adapted for engagement with a pole, wherein in use, a first of the two projections is located closer to the racing rail than the second of the two projections. A curvilinear pole arrangement has an elongate pole body and an attachable base, the upper end of the pole is adapted for rotatable attachment to a racing rail and the attachable base of the pole having a lower surface adapted for directed lateral sliding and longitudinal engagement with the upper surface of the body of the ground element for retention due to the overlap of correspondingly ramped surfaces against movement of the base of the pole in both the directions upward and towards the racing rail; and when a force is exerted on the pole body having a component of that force in a direction lateral of the body of the attachable base, the attachable base disengages with the ground engagement element about a pivot point external of the ground engagement element.
L'invention concerne un système de mise en prise pouvant se rompre entre un montant et un élément de mise en prise avec le sol qui est destiné à soutenir un rail de course. L'invention comprend un élément de mise en prise avec le sol. En cours d'utilisation, la surface inférieure est dirigée vers le sol et la surface supérieure est dirigée à l'opposé du sol et possède également au moins une pointe d'insertion dans le sol. La surface supérieure de l'élément de mise en prise avec le sol comporte des saillies opposées qui sont conçues pour venir en prise avec un montant. En cours d'utilisation, une première des deux saillies est située plus près du rail de course que la seconde des deux saillies. Un système de montant curviligne comprend un corps de montant allongé et une base fixable, l'extrémité supérieure du montant est conçue pour être fixée en rotation à un rail de course et la base fixable du montant a une surface inférieure conçue pour un coulissement latéral dirigé et une mise en prise longitudinale avec la surface supérieure du corps de l'élément au sol pour une retenue due au chevauchement des surfaces inclinées correspondantes agissant contre le déplacement de la base du montant dans les deux sens vers le haut et vers le rail de course ; et lorsque est exercée sur le corps de montant une force qui comporte une composante dans une direction latérale par rapport au corps de base fixable, la base fixable se sépare de l'élément de mise en prise avec le sol autour d'un point de pivotement extérieur à l'élément de mise en prise avec le sol.
