SALT INERT/RESISTANT BARRIER COMPOSITIONS AND THEIR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION
The present invention provides for a solid body composition that is able to withstand penetration and/or reaction with salts or salt compositions in one or more states of matter (solid, liquid, gas). The composition comprises at least one aggregate and at least one binder. The aggregate may be chosen based on its thermodynamic stability compared to a salt composition. The binder comprises a resol resin or a novolac resin, or a combination of one or more of a resol resin and one or more of a novolac resin. The resin binder sets to provide initial strength then is pyrolized to form a glassy carbon which acts as a barrier to a salt phase or phases of an industrial process.
La présente invention concerne une composition de corps solide qui est capable de résister à la pénétration et/ou à la réaction avec des sels ou des compositions de sel dans un ou plusieurs états de la matière (solide, liquide, gaz). La composition comprend au moins un agrégat et au moins un liant. L'agrégat peut être choisi sur la base de sa stabilité thermodynamique par rapport à une composition saline. Le liant comprend une résine résol ou une résine novolaque, ou encore une combinaison d'une ou de plusieurs résines résol et d'une ou plusieurs résines novolaque. Le liant résineux durcit pour fournir une résistance initiale, puis il est pyrolysé pour former un carbone vitreux qui agit en tant que barrière contre une ou plusieurs phases de sel d'un processus industriel.
