APPARATUS TO PREVENT A TOILET FROM BEING FLUSHED WHEN THE LID IS UP
A toilet (101) having a first-magnet (111) secured to the terminal end of the toilet's flush-arm (110) and a second-magnet (112) secured to the toilet's lid (108) such that when the lid (108) is in its open or up position, the two magnets align preventing the flush-arm (110) from rotating upward to cause the toilet to flush. Conversely, when the lid (108) is down and the two magnets are separated, the flush-arm (110) can be rotated upward causing the toilet to flush. In another example, a magnet-attracting component, such as iron, cobalt or nickel, can be substituted for one of the magnets. A kit for retrofitting an existing toilet is also disclosed.
L'invention concerne une toilette (101) ayant un premier aimant (111) fixé à l'extrémité terminale du bras de chasse d'eau de toilette (110) et un second aimant (112) fixé au couvercle de la toilette (108) de telle sorte que lorsque le couvercle (108) est dans sa position d'ouverture ou de fermeture, les deux aimants s'alignent en empêchant le bras de chasse d'eau de tourner vers le haut pour amener la toilette à réaliser une chasse d'eau. Inversement, lorsque le couvercle (108) est abaissé et que les deux aimants sont séparés, le bras de chasse d'eau (110) peut être tourné vers le haut, ce qui amène la toilette à réaliser une chasse d'eau. Dans un autre exemple, un composant attirant les aimants, tel que le fer, le cobalt ou le nickel, peut être substitué pour l'un des aimants. L'invention concerne également une kit destiné à la rénovation d'une toilette existante.
