The invention relates to a system for mining of metal-containing crusts on the seabed. At least one vehicle is provided to travel on the seabed to crush the metallic-rich rock. The rock is then pumped via an umbilical to a subsea station and then via a riser to a surface vessel. The surface vessel (1) having ore treatment and storage facilities. There may be several vehicles all controlled together. The vehicles may also be arranged for autonomous operation.
L'invention concerne un système d'exploitation minière de croûtes contenant du métal sur le fond marin. Au moins un véhicule est prévu pour se déplacer sur le fond marin afin de broyer la roche riche en métal. La roche est ensuite pompée par l'intermédiaire d'un câble ombilical jusqu'à une station sous-marine, puis par l'intermédiaire d'une colonne montante jusqu'à un navire à la surface. Le navire à la surface (1) comprend des installations de traitement et de stockage de minerai. Il peut y avoir plusieurs véhicules tous commandés ensemble. Les véhicules peuvent également être agencés pour un fonctionnement autonome.
