WATERTIGHT BUILDING OPENING ASSEMBLY EXTENSION
A unified building opening extension system 100 is pre-built offsite. In one embodiment, the extension system 100 is a single sheet of metal cut, bent, and fixed in a predetermined size. The extension system 100 provides an airtight, watertight assembly that is compatible with waterproofing and air barrier systems integrated with the assembly when the opening assembly 131 (e.g. door or window), exterior insulation 303, and veneer 313 are installed on the building wall. Water intrusion or leaks are resisted even under positive and negative air pressure events (i.e., winds and storms).
