Ein faltbare Tragkonstruktion (1) für eine Abdeckung eines zylinderförmigen Bauwerks, insbesondere eines Tanks (90) und ein Verfahren zur Montage einer faltbaren Tragkonstruktion zur Abdeckung eines zylinderförmigen Bauwerks, insbesondere eines Tanks. Die faltbare Tragkonstruktion umfasst ein Zentralelement (10) mit einer Mittelachse (X), mindestens drei an dem Zentralelement befestigte Träger (100) mit jeweils mindestens zwei relativ zueinander beweglichen Armen, wobei eine maximale Erstreckung der Träger in radialer Richtung von der Mittelachse in einer ersten Montageposition (MP1) kleiner ist als eine maximale Erstreckung der Träger in radialer Richtung von der Mittelachse in einer Tragposition (TP).
