Spatial distribution of non-point source pollution in Danjiangkou reservoir and the upper reaches
This study was undertaken in Danjiangkou reservoir and the upper reaches, where the SWAT model was used to analyze the space distribution of non-point source pollution. The land-use pattern was interpreted by Environment for Visualizing Images Software (ENVI). The runoff and the sediment data series from 2001 to 2006 were collected to calibrate the parameters and validate the model. The calculated result indicated that this watershed was a serious soil erosion area. The non-point source pollution load had the same space distribution with the silt load. Agricultural development was the main reason that caused the soil erosion. Appropriate agricultural management measures can effectively prevent the water from non-point source pollution.
