Geosurface radiometric temperatures from atmospherically corrected multi-angle measurements
Geosurface measurements taken by radiometric sensors from high altitudes may become corrupted by the intervening atmosphere. By assuming a relatively high transmission and horizontally stratified atmosphere over the observational geometry, the corruptions can be largely removed from multiple incidence angle measurements. This data inversion method has been modeled and the results are encouraging. In this analysis, examples are presented for two radiometers sensitive to radiation in a) the microwave region, and b) another in the thermal infrared band.<>
