The Fabrication of Molecular Memory Device Composed of Iron Storage Protein, Ferritin
Ferritin is an iron storage protein of organisms. And ferritin is nanometer-scale redox active molecule. Using these molecule, we fabricated nano bio electronic devices. First, we fabricated the substrate of metalloprotein immobilized. 11-MUA (11-Mercaptoundecanoic Acid) was used for constructing alkanethiol layer as a linker material. Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) spectroscopy and Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) was used for identify the immobilization of ferritin. In second step, for the investigating electrochemical redox property of immobilized ferritin, we used the cyclic voltammetry (CV) technique. Memory function of ferritin have explained by theory Open Circuit Potential Amperometry (OCPA) technique.
