Urban modeling based on the data fusion with Cellular Automata approach
In the presented study a model, algorithm for collecting and complex processing of aerospace data and terrestrial statistical information of urban agglomerations state, modeling and forecasting of sustainable development and estimation of dynamics of changes in environmental safety of Kyiv city are presented. For modeling and prediction of the landscape dynamics of the city of Kyiv a Cellular Automata (CA) -based model that integrates with the Markov Model (MM) was modified and adapted to specific of areas. A detailed assessment of the changes of urban landscape components of the city of Kyiv for the period 1990-2018 was conducted. Using the proposed model: modeling of the built-up part of the city of Kyiv was performed; an assessment of the city's growth potential was made; the weights of the priority areas for development were established. The result was a predictive assessment of the dynamics of the urban landscape until 2028. The study showed that for future urban expansion, it is most promising to involve land adjacent to an officially designated city boundary.
