Machine Vision and Image Processing of Asphalt Pavement Damage Detection System
Asphalt pavement refers to various types of pavement paved with asphalt materials incorporated into mineral materials. Because of the durability of this material, it is one of the most widely used types of road surface. However, even asphalt surfaces can still suffer from breakage and cracks, which can further affect public transportation. Therefore, this paper believes that it is urgent to establish a mature asphalt pavement damage detection system, aiming at timely detection of asphalt pavement damage problems and repair. This paper also argues that the use of machine vision and image processing technology can help the asphalt pavement damage detection system to better extract the pavement crack characteristics and locate the crack coordinates, so as to improve the work efficiency of the system. So this paper introduces these two technologies to improve the basic framework of the system. Finally, this study found that machine vision and image processing can effectively construct a damage detection system for asphalt pavement.
