Exploring Masdar City: Smart Innovations and Future Eco-City Model in Urban Sustainability
Masdar City, a trailblazing example in the United Arab Emirates, stands out as an impressive case study. The concept of Masdar City, with its distinct blend of technological expertise and commitment to sustainability, opens the door to a more promising and sustainable future for metropolitan areas. This future metropolis exceeds its own objectives for carbon reduction and self-sufficiency by 2050 because to its unique approach of relying heavily on renewable energy sources, particularly solar power, and meticulously optimizing its architecture to maximize resource efficiency. However, what sets Masdar City apart is how seamlessly smart technology is integrated across a range of industries, transforming the city from one that is sustainable to one that is a genuine innovation test. This paper investigates how the smart technology components of Masdar City function and what effects they have on many facets of urban life. From the intelligent grid optimizing energy consumption to the driverless Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) network redefining mobility, networked technologies improve civic services through more effective communication and resource allocation. Smart sensors and data-driven insights enable resource recovery and environmental responsibility in the context of water and sewage treatment, which are no longer only utilities. In addition to highlighting Masdar City's accomplishments, this paper also assesses the city's suitability as a template for other communities. By examining how the smart technology aspects of Masdar City are used and making comparisons with other sustainable cities and models throughout the world.
