Design of Elliptical Pin Fins Heat Exchanger for Concentrated Solar Power Plants
The design of elliptical fins is investigated through ANSYS Fluent intending to use it as heat sink in Concentrated Solar Power Plants. Varying Reynolds number and heat flux cases, the flow field temperature distributions are investigated using the water as the working fluid. Apart from that, the performance of the fins is observed through assessment of thermal resistance. As the Reynolds number increases, the thermal resistance of the heat sink decreased. The results indicated effective heat transfer for elliptical fins for all cases of heat fluxes studied.
