Rigid pavement: compressive strength, state of preservation and sampling automation
For land transportation, roads are one of the most important means of communication in the world; however, with the passage of time they deteriorate without reaching their useful life of 10 to 20 years due to lack of periodic evaluation. In Peru, rigid pavement is one of the most used for roads; however, the lack of periodic management of the deterioration of the wearing course causes damage and discomfort in urban transportation. For this reason, the objective was to determine the compressive strength by means of the sclerometer, its incidence on the degree of preservation in rigid pavements and a form of automation of the sclerometer was proposed. For this purpose, the PCI method was used to evaluate the road and the Autodesk Inventor software was used to propose the automation. As a result, it was obtained that the rigid pavement located in Jiron 15 de Setiembre had a PCI of 72 classified as satisfactory state of preservation, in the same way it was found that it had a minimum resistance of 294.59 kg/cm2 and a maximum resistance of 380.70 kg/cm2, also the proposed automated prototype can follow patterns for taking surveys through its wheels for each direction. Finally, it is concluded that the rigid pavement has good compressive strength and is directly proportional to its state of preservation; therefore, it does not require any maintenance.
