Interference-Aware Topology Control Problem in Wireless Sensor Networks
Most research work of Topology control in wireless sensor networks is to construct a sparse network topology satisfying a certain property (such as connectivity), which result in saving energy and extend network lifetime. Less of them take interference into consideration. Actually interference plays a very important role in many applications. Large interference will increase communication sign collisions and induce great delay in data delivering. In the paper, we mainly address interference-aware topology control problems in wireless sensor networks. We design an optimum centralized algorithm, and a distributed interference-aware connected dominating set based topology control algorithm suitable for realistic applications. We make simulations of our two interference-aware topology control algorithms with existing algorithm. The simulation results show that our interference-aware topology control algorithms have good performance on network interference, energy and delay.
