Purlin-Sheeting Connection Tests
Purlin-sheeting connection tests have been performed in an effort to quantify the magnitude of the torsional restraint provided by sheeting when screw-fastened to one flange of a cold-formed steel channel or Z-section purlin. The purlin and sheeting types conducted at the University of Sydney. In this report, two series of purlin-sheeting connection tests are described. The torsional restraints determined from the test are compared with those determined from tests by Ings and Trahair, and with those determined from equations in Eurocode 3 Part 1.3.
