The project will provide for the replacement of an 1150-bed medical facility with a new 702-bed hospital. Three existing buildings will be retained and the rest demolished after construction of the new building. The new hospital will be contained within an existing 29.8 acre site in the borough of the Bronx, New York City. Environmental impact will be favorable, although there will be loss of an attractive park-like slope along Sedgwick Avenue.
