Columbia to Carbondale, F.A.P. Route 410, Carbondale, Illinois
The proposed freeway improvement will consist of the construction of approximately 89 miles of access-controlled highway from north of Columbia, to east of Carbondale, Illinois. It requires the acquisition of approximately 3,240 acres of land. Benefits will accrue to a four-county corridor area. Some residences and businesses will be displaced. The roadway crosses over areas of coal reserves which are scheduled to be either strip or deep mined in the immediate future.
