Restoration Methods for Jointed Concrete Pavements
The report describes the methods and procedures used by the Georgia Department of Transportation in restoring the serviceability of jointed concrete pavements. The report describes the procedures for undersealing, joint resealing, spall repair, slab replacement, and grinding. The experience with the use of edgedrains as a rehabilitation technique is also described and the reasons for discontinuing its use is outlined. Performance measurements made during the course of the study on rehabilitated sections have indicated that the life of concrete pavements can be extended in cost-effective manner if the proper procedures are used for the condition of the project.
