Residential Energy Consumption - Multi-Family Housing Data Acquisition
As part of a program to analyze the consumption of energy within the residential sector, the energy-consumptive characteristics of multi-family housing in the Baltimore- Washington area were surveyed. Based on this survey, three characteristic structures were specified as being typical of a townhouse, a low-rise apartment and a high-rise apartment. The characteristics of multi-family housing as related to energy consumption, were divided into several categories; structural design, construction materials, intraunit energy consumption, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Energy consumption profiles were developed for each of the three types of multi-family structures. (Author Modified Abstract)
