Handbook for Library Trustees
Designed to serve as an introduction to trusteeship in Mississippi libraries, this revised handbook re-defines the role of the trustee in library development as independent libraries are merged into larger administrative units. Sections briefly cover trustee appointment, qualifications, his/her authority and responsibilities to the community, the organization/power/duties of county and municipal library boards of trustees in county and regional library systems, the responsibility of the trustee to the library, the responsibility of the library to the trustee, orientation for new trustees, and the Mississippi Library Commission's aid to trustees. Appended is a questionnaire used to evaluate the performance of the library director.
