Roadside Tire Noise
The study investigated the noise produced by a single passenger vehicle tire heard at the roadside. Special care was taken to minimize microphone wind noise caused by the high-speed turbulent flow of the measurement process. Measurements were taken on both old and new Class B asphalt, Class D asphalt, and portland cement concrete pavement. The results are presented in graphical form.
