Mechanical Properties of Insulating Concretes
A description is given of a series of tests with perlite, vermiculite, and cellular insulating concretes. The tests were designed to develop data for the purpose of determining: (1) elastic properties and strength as a function of size and shape of specimen, curing method, density, and composition; (2) drying shrinkage; (3) thermally induced movements; and (4) behavior of reinforced insulating concrete slabs under short-term and long-term loads.
