Glass Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Bars as Top Mat Reinforcement for Bridge Decks
The use of GFRP bars as reinforcement for concrete is still a relatively new technology, and more information about the behavior of GFRP is needed to safely design a bridge deck with GFRP bars. This project is the first in a series of three projects sponsored by the Virginia Department of Transportation with the eventual overall goal of building a bridge deck with GFRP as the top mat of reinforcement.
