Fire Test of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Structural Wall Panel
The report describes a test conducted to determine the performance of a load-bearing glass fiber reinforced polyester wall system when subjected to the standard fire conditions described in ASTM E119, Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials. The structural composite is a glass fiber reinforced polyester laminate manufactured from random oriented glass fibers and impregnated with specially formulated polyester resins. The composite contains a large percentage of inorganic fillers. It was concluded that the wall panel passed the thermal requirements for a 30 minute load-bearing fire rating.
