Load Relaxation in Timber Mining Supports
Research on structural timber used in mines is a recent development. Load relaxation (or creep) is an important indicator of the behavior of timber in mines. The relationship between creep and load relaxation as well as a mathematical model for the stress in a specimen under a constant convergence rate are given. Some forms for the relationships between the creep factor and stress are suggested. The theory is backed by limited experimental results.
