Project S-1660-A, Escambia County, Alabama
The proposed project begins on U.S. 31 at intersection of U.S. 31 and County Road 27. The typical section is a rural type section consisting of one 24' lane of pavement on a 44' roadway. Total length of the project is about 8 miles. It is believed that an enhancement will be noted in several areas. The area where the project is to be constructed is predominantly rural with an occasional residence or community nearby. The proposed right of way consists mostly of wooded areas of pine trees and some cultivated fields and pastures. There will be minor erosion of the approach fills into Hall Creek in case of sudden rains during construction which will be unavoidable and will affect the fish habitat near the bridge. There will be additional noise after construction due to the increased traffic and there will be additional noise and dust due to roadway and bridge building equipment during the construction period.
