The purpose of this ordinance is to regulate and guide the subdividsion of land in order to promote the public health, safety, and general welfare of Wayne County. The ordinance is designed to accomplish the following specific objectives: (a) lessen congestion in the streets and highways; (b) further the orderly layout and use of land; (c) insure proper legal description and proper monumenting of subdivided land; (d) secure safety from fire, panic, and other dangers; (e) provide adequate light and air; (f) prevent the overcrowding of land and avoid undue concentration of population; (g) facilitate adequate provision for transportation, water, sewerage, schools, parks, playgrounds and other public requirements.
