Timber Resources of Kosrae, Pohnpei, Truk, and Yap, Federated States of Micronesia
In a forest inventory of the four states of the Federated States of Micronesia, 60,625 hectares (149,804 acres) were surveyed, of which 24,326 hectares (60,110 acres) were timberland. The timberland has an estimated 3.1 million cubic meters 111.1 million cu ft. of standing timber. An estimated 2.7 million cubic meters (95.3 million cu ft) of the timber volumes were in the State of Pohnpei; 338,000 cubic meters (95.3 million cu ft) of the timber volumes were in the State of Pohnpei; 338,000 cubic meters (11.9 million cu ft.) in the State of Kosrae; 5,000 cubic meters (176,600 cu ft) in Truk; and 16,000 cubic meters (565,000 cu ft) in Yap.
