The purpose of the proposed project is to provide a modern, four-lane urban highway facility between the northwest and southeast segments of Yuma and to provide an interconnecting route between the downtown business district and the Interstate and Defense Highway 8 at the northernmost section of Yuma for local, State, and Interstate traffic. Probable Adverse Environmental Effects: Temporary inconvenience to the community during construction cannot be avoided. The flow of traffic will be somewhat restricted, noise and exhaust emissions from construction equipment and dust will be generated by construction activities; Relocation of tenants of one small apartment building and two single-family residences is unavoidable.
