Technical Report on Structural Evaluation of the Meade County Reinforced Concrete Bridge
This is a technical report on the first phase of the evaluation of the Meade County reinforced concrete bridge. The first three chapters introduce the main problem and provide a general review of the existing evaluation methods and the procedures applicable to the Meade County reinforced concrete bridge. In chapters four, five and six, the evaluation methods proposed by AASHTO, and ACI, as well as the load rating method using the field crack-test data from the latest bridge inspection conducted in May 2006 and the corresponding results and conclusions are presented. The report is concluded by chapter seven with the main conclusions and recommendations for the Meade County reinforced concrete bride. It should be noted that this report serves as the first phase report based on the existing field test data. It is recommended to conduct more tests on the bridge in a near future to cover a wider time-window and provide more field data for a better assessment of the crack propagation, deterioration rate and bridge capacity.
