Maintenance of Old Buildings. Preservation from the Technical and Antiquarian Standpoint
Since 1968 the National Swedish Institute for Building Research has been actively engaged in research on the technical problems commonly encountered in the course of restoration projects. The main emphasis here has been on buildings of cultural and historical value. These buildings differ from other older properties only in that the need for perfect workmanship is so much greater since as a rule such buildings are to be preserved for posterity. The purpose of this document is to provide brief information on the subject which will be comprehensible even to people who are not members of the building profession.
