This literature review has covered material under the nine different subject areas listed on page 2. In the sections listed below the work has extended beyond the strict confines of a literature review to explore specific points. Section 2.3.2: An illustration of the range of reasons given by experts for Codes excluding the requirement for ties in roofs with lightweight claddings. Section 4.7: A table summarizing a number of different definitions given for the words 'stability' and 'robustness'. Section 6.4: An investigation of the incidence of gas explosions in buildings coming under the umbrella of the A4 requirement of the Building Regulations.
