The Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Springfield, Illinois, is where Lincoln lived for seventeen years of his life. The primary purpose of development of the landscape of the historic zone is to recreate the atmosphere of the 1860 period to better enable visitors to understand the type of neigborhood where Lincoln lived. This study documents what is known of the landscape and to make detailed recommendations for landscape restoration.
