Thin-Walled C-Shaped Panels in Axial Compression
This report examines thin-walled C-type panels of steel sheeting which are subjected to axial loading. By joining together individual panels, it is possible to produce stressed skin members which have both a loadbearing and space-separating function, for instance as parts of a wall. When acting as loadbearing members in a wall, the panels will be subjected mainly to axial loads. Owing to the characteristic construction of the panels from thin cross sectional elements, stability problems of various kinds are of decisive significance with regard to structural behaviour and loadbearing capacity.
