Performance of Single and Double Sills for Steep Circular Culverts
The main objective of this research report has been to study the performance of single and double sills as means of producing uniform distribution of flow in channels downstream of steep circular culverts. In particular, the study involved the experimental determination of the height and location of single and double sills placed within standard Texas Highway Department wing walls for different culvert geometries and a range of discharge factors. For the double sill arrangement, the best configurations (locations and heights) that would produce a uniform flow distribution in the downstream channel were determined. (Author)
