Seismic and Underwater Responses to Sonic Boom
Several topics are treated in order of increasing complexity: first, the underwater effects, since deep water may be considered, to a first approximation, to be a homogeneous half-space bounded by a flat surface; second, the seismic effects, wherein a layered, flat earth must often be taken into account; and finally, the little-explored topic of sonic-boom effects upon incipient avalanches, landslides, and earthquakes is briefly considered.
