The report describes the flood control protection consisting of improvement of existing earthen levees, construction of new levees, concrete floodwalls, closure structures, ponding areas, a pumping plant, and partial realignment of Mad Creek for the city of Muscatine, Muscatine County, Iowa. The adverse environmental effects are loss of existing bottomland vegetation, temporary deterioration of land areas by borrow and ponding, and temporary increase in turbidity because of increased siltation during channel realignment.
