Local Planning Assistance in the Southeastern Illinois Planning Region, April 1970-June 1971, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Pope and Saline Counties
The report gives an account of the provision of planning assistance to units of local government in a rural five-county region. Fourteen comprehensive goals and objectives are identified for the five-county region. Some of the more prominent goals are: full employment and a dramatic attenuation of poverty, development of human resources, protection of the region's physical and aesthetic environment, strengthening of municipal and county governments, construction of new and improved municipal water and sewer systems, improvement of local police and fire protection, and construction or rehabilitation of additional public and private housing units.
