Blasting of Concrete: Localized Cutting in and Partial Demolition of Concrete Structures
Experimental and practical experience indicates that blasting with drilled-in charges is an interesting method for localized cutting and partial demolition of concrete structures. For the time being, however, lay-on charges can be used only in special circumstances, and these lay-on charges should preferably be shaped charges. It might also be possible to use explosives for fragmentation when concrete is to be reused. The purpose of the report is to highlight the present state of knowledge in the area of concrete blasting. Special emphasis is laid on research and development results during the last decade.
