This document presents the results of the Phase I cultural resources survey and archeological inventory of the 4.94 ha (12.21 ac) Keystone Lock and Dam project parcel in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana. Fieldwork for this project was completed between June 12 and June 28, 2000 by R.. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc. on behalf of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, pursuant to Contract DACW29-97-D-0018, Delivery Order 28. All fieldwork was conducted in accordance with the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended; Louisiana's Comprehensive Archaeological Plan, the Scope of Work as drafted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, with 36 CFR 800, 'Protection of Historic Properties' and with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archeology and Historic Preservation (Federal Register 48, No. 190, 1983). Separate reports for the Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste, the Lock and Dam, and the three standing structures within the Keystone Lock property will be submitted by R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc., to the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District.
