Verification of the fire resistance of construction elements and structures is an important topic within the broad field of Fire Safety Science. Research work as presented in the report has been initiated with the aim of developing a relevant fire test method simulating hydrocarbon fires. The report presents results from corresponding research work in the United States, United Kingdom and Norway. The resulting hydrocarbon fire test method will be incorporated in the revised version of the international standard ISO 834.
