The proposed action consists of construction of a new Courthouse and Federal Office Building in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina, by the General Services Administration. The facility will have a gross area of approximately 322,686 square feet in basement, sub-basement, eight stories and penthouse and will accomodate the U.S. Courts (including Attorney and Marshall), Veterans Administration, National Labor Relations Board, U.S. Postal Service Station, and the general purpose space needs of nine other Federal agencies. The proposed site fronts on the north side of Second Street, the east side on Main Street, and the west side of Church Street, containing an area of approximately 67,636 square feet. Environmental impacts are discussed.
