Hydraulic Model Study of Gwinnett County Georgia Y15 Dam Overtopping Protection
This report documents the findings from the hydraulic model study of the RCC overtopping protection designed for Gwinnett County Y15 embankment dam in Georgia. The performance of the stepped overtopping design over the existing dam with 3:1 downstream slope was investigated for overall adequacy of performance under the 2/3 and PMP events. The protection had a straight broad crest with angled section on both ends. A large flat section was located below the crest. The protection then continued down the 3:1 slope to basins at various elevations.
