Archeological Investigations at the Watts Brothers Site (40-Ce-6) Cumberland Gap, Claiborne County, Tennessee
The report presents the results of test excavations at Watts Brothers necessitated by the planned destruction of the site by road construction associated with the Cumberland Gap Tunnel project. Contrary to the previous identification of the site, archaeological investigations and subsequent historical research have proven that the site was not the location of Harrow School, where the idea to create Lincoln Memorial University in nearby Harrowgate, Tennessee was first proposed.
