The report discusses the following studies made to supplement the first report of this series: A study of effects of abbreviated moist-curing of concrete revealed no indications that concrete containing portland blast-furnace slag cements is more adversely affected than type II cement concrete. Tests of effects of portland blast-furnace slag cement on corrosion of reinforcing steel showed that corrosion at all ages and exposures tested was significantly less for steel in this concrete than for steel in type II portland cement concrete. Bond-to-steel tests indicated similar relations for both blast-furnace slag and type II portland cements. (Author Modified Abstract)
